Cold and juicy, watermelon is a perfect summer fruit. Watermelon popsicles, best thing for a hot summer afternoon.
Delicious, nutritious and easy to prepare; these watermelon popsicles are a hit with my 2-year-old.
Loaded with water, vitamins and minerals, watermelon is very refreshing. Among other nutrients, this fruit contains B vitamins, phosphorus, potassium, zinc magnesium, copper, selenium, lycopene, and choline. A powerhouse of nutrients!
This fruit is naturally sweet, so it is possible to reduce the amount of added sugar, it all depends on your family taste. As a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist I can tell you it is much better to add a bit of sugar to healthy food that your family actually eats. You can reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe as your family adapts to lower sugar intake. I like to taste the watermelon before making the recipe, to decide if I need to add sugar.

3 cups of watermelon cut into cubes
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of honey
1. Mix all the ingredients in a blender
2. Pour the mix in popsicle molds and refrigerate until frozen (4-6 hours) Enjoy with your family!
